Is it ever gonna be time for spring clothes? I'm always ready to admit a more-than-passing fondness for wool peacoats, but even I can only take so much of it. What's worse, half my current wardrobe is over six months old! It's what I get for shopping early, I suppose.

Private, easily hackable )

Most of these people are a lot less pushy than the reporters had been last year.

And a few of them are a lot better looking~

Still, I'd like to give a cookie to all the ones who bothered to swing by the sign-in sheet without my having to flag them down. They seem to be getting better about it, tho. I think they'll have gotten it by the time they're ready to leave.

I love winter.

I hate headcolds.

I reaaally hate taking care of small children with headcolds. With all the bazillion other people my sister has on speed-dial, all of whom have ten times more maternal instinct than I'll ever possess, she has to call me when she and the hubby gotta book it out of town for the weekend.

I don't have kiddy Tylenol in my home. I don't know what channels the cartoons are on. I do not have a spare 'Nye-nye.' I don't even know what a 'Nye-nye' is. Thank god I have a sofa bed. I just wish they hadn't been blowing their noses on it. Ew.

At least they're cute?

What are these papers on my desk? I don't speak... is this French?

My 'special' brownies are missing from the bottom drawer....

And someone took the track-ball out of my mouse. I swear, this is just like High School. Did someone let loose a horde of monkeys in the office?

Is it really only Wednesday? Ugh. At least I work on the first floor.

Yo, Ikkaku! Kazumi says the kids are asking for you.

Y'know I'd really been hoping that the noise from last night was the neighbor's AC again, and not rain. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed when I went out and checked this morning.

My poor car can't take this humidity. I really wanted to replace those seals before the weather got weird again. Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend. Unless... Maybe I could start on that tonight, and borrow Momma's 'Gia for tomorrow. Of course, that thing doesn't start up half the time in good weather. Or Sachi's Toyota... is automatic. Nevermind, fuck that. Those seals are gettin' done tonight.

Thank god I have covered parking.

I've always thought sign-in sheets were a fairly easy-to-understand procedure. The recent slew of visitors has shown me otherwise. I don't know how many times I've had to remind people that if they don't have a corporate ID, they need to fill in their name, who they're here to see, and the time they arrive. Hell, tell me, and I'll write it all down! Just, urgh. You'd think the great big sign that says "PLEASE FILL OUT THE SIGN-IN SHEET," would be enough to reassure them that, no, I'm not singling them out or trying to make their life more difficult.

You'd think.

What am I gonna do? Is there any way to un-send an email?

I think I'm gonna cry.

This humidity is simply god-awful. It’s taking me twice as much time in the morning to get my hair to behave, and I’m going through styling gel like no one’s business. And believe me, when you’re staring in the mirror first thing in the morning, wondering how to turn that rat’s nest into something even vaguely presentable, calling in sick sounds like a pretty good idea. Not that I’d do that, mind you.

I think my mother had the right idea: shave it all off, and buy a few wigs. She also did some fabulous things with scarves, but somehow I doubt that company dress code would allow that sort of thing without some kind of religious affiliation. I’m already toeing the line with the nail polish...
